Cheaper Than a New Controller, and Built Better

A new DualSense costs $90–$100+ and ships with the same analog sticks that drifted the first time. A Hall effect swap costs less and holds up much better. Got a DualSense Edge? Its sticks are a different setup, so call or text (705) 481-1572 for a quote.

Is It Actually Stick Drift?

Before you book anything, here's how to tell. Stick drift has a pretty distinct fingerprint, and once you know what to look for, it's hard to miss. Most people blame the game, a bad update, or their own aim, when really it's worn-out joystick sensors inside the controller. If more than one of these sounds familiar, you've found your problem, and it's one of the quickest repairs we do.
  • Your character or camera moves when you're not touching the stick
  • Menu cursor jumps or scrolls on its own
  • Your aim keeps pulling in one direction
  • Stick feels loose or gritty, or doesn't spring back to center
  • Cleaning or recalibrating helped for a week, then it came back
  • It drifts in every game, not just one
Buttons not working, won't charge, or no connection? That's a different repair. Call us and we'll tell you straight whether we take it on.

Why Sticks Drift (And Why Hall Effect Helps)

Factory DualSense sticks read your movement with a tiny wiper rubbing across a carbon track. Every flick and every match wears that track down a little, until the controller starts reading movement that isn't there. That's drift, and it's why cleaning only buys you time. Hall effect sticks read position with magnets instead, so there's no rubbing contact to wear out the same way. They hold up much better to heavy use, which is why most people pick them.

Why Buy a New Controller When You Can Fix This One?

A new DualSense runs about $90–$100+, and it ships with the same analog sticks that drifted the first time. Or you can drop yours off in Barrie, get new sticks with Hall effect as an option, and have it back within 48 hours for less. We don't judge. Your call.

What If It's Not Just the Sticks?

Most of the time it's exactly what it looks like. Sometimes it isn't. Here's what happens either way.
It's Just the Sticks
This is what's wrong most of the time. We swap in your choice of new sticks, calibrate them, test every direction, and hand it back working. Flat tier price, no surprises, no upsell.
Something Else Is Worn
Sometimes a ribbon cable, button, or board issue turns up once it's open. If we find something, we'll tell you what it is and what it costs first, and you decide.
It's Not Worth Fixing
Rare, but it happens, usually with water damage or a cracked board. We'll tell you straight and hand it back as-is, so you can put the money toward a new controller instead.

48 Hours Means This Weekend, Not Three Weeks From Now

Most shops that "fix" controllers just sell you a new one, or ship yours off and make you wait. We swap the sticks ourselves, in Barrie, at the bench.

Driving in from Orillia, Innisfil, Collingwood, Wasaga, Angus, or Midhurst? Bring it with your console repair, or drop it off on your next trip into town.

Local? Drop it off midweek and you're back online by the weekend.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your PlayStation Controller Questions, Answered (Yes, Even The Ones You Feel Weird Googling)

Standard analog sticks are $59, Hall effect sticks are $79, and GuliKit Premium sticks are $119. Every price covers both sticks, installed, calibrated, and tested. No “starting at” surprises if it’s a straightforward stick swap.

Standard sticks are the same type Sony uses from the factory: brand new, but they can drift again down the road. Hall effect sticks use magnets instead of a rubbing contact, so they hold up much better to heavy use. GuliKit is the top-tier Hall effect option, with the smoothest, most precise feel.

Honest answer: it can. Standard sticks wear the same way the originals did. Hall effect sticks are far more resistant but not indestructible, and how long they last depends on how hard you play. Either way, you’re covered by our warranty, and many people get years more use out of a Hall effect upgrade.

Most controllers are ready within 48 hours. If you’re bringing in a console too, we’ll do both together.

No. We only work on genuine Sony DualSense controllers. Knockoffs use different internals and parts, and we can’t stand behind the repair.

The Edge uses swappable stick modules, which is a different setup. Call us at (705) 481-1572 and we’ll tell you what makes sense for yours.

Both, every time. If one stick has worn out, the other usually isn’t far behind, and matching sticks feel consistent. That’s built into the price.

Yes, and it’s the easiest way to do it. Just mention it when you book your HDMI or overheating repair, and we’ll have both ready together.

All stick replacements include a 90-day warranty on parts and labour.

A new DualSense costs $90–$100+ and comes with the same analog sticks that drift. A stick replacement costs less, and with Hall effect you get sticks that hold up better than the factory ones. If your controller has other damage that makes it not worth fixing, we’ll tell you.

Your Controller Has a Mind of Its Own. And Drifty Dan Knows the Feeling.

Meet Drifty Dan. Once the most reliable controller on the couch, now he wanders off mid-match and walks you straight into enemy fire.

Real talk: your controller didn't "just get weird." Thousands of hours of flicks, sprints, and rage-spins wore those sticks down. Now it's aiming for you, badly.

No judgment. We swap in fresh sticks, Hall effect if you want them, so Dan stops freelancing and goes back to doing what you tell him.

Don't let Dan play for you. Book it in.
